Facebook Community Guidelines
Through its Facebook page, Events in Sutherland Shire will provide information about events coordinated by the Communications & Events Team. We will use the page to engage with the community, answer general questions, and foster discussion.
We will also share links to other events organised by council and some community markets events where appropriate - Sutherland Shire only. Send a link to your event via DM only. Please do not post to our newsfeed.
Operating our Facebook page
The Events in Sutherland Shire page is maintained by Sutherland Shire Council's Communications & Events Team.
We support the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities http://www.facebook.com/terms.php
and related Facebook policies, and we request that visitors to our page to do the same.
Moderating our Facebook page
We welcome your comments and do not discriminate against any views.
Contributors may not:
• harass, abuse or threaten other visitors to the site
• post comments that are likely to offend others, particularly in reference to an individual’s race, age, gender, sexuality, political leaning, religion or disability
• use obscene or offensive language
• post repeat comments continuously
• promote anything that may constitute spam, such as commercial interests, solicitations, advertisements or endorsements of for profit agencies
• reveal personal details such as email addresses, phone numbers or home addresses on the public wall without permission
If you don’t adhere to the above, we will moderate and potentially remove your comment.
If the content of a comment is personal in nature, or is affecting the enjoyment of the page for other visitors, we may remove it and take the discussion 'offline' into a private channel.
